| 1. | In the event of anything arising and not provided for in these rules, will be dealt with by the Committee, and their decision to be final and binding on any competitor. |
| 2. | Any competitor infringing or breaking any rule may be liable to disqualification and or barred from any future events of the Association. |
| 3. | In the absence of the Competition Secretary or appointed Stewards, Competitors will appoint Stewards to be responsible for the observance of these rules. |
| 4. | All entry fees must accompany any entry forms for Competitions or Festivals. |
| 5. | The Association reserves the right to DECLINE ANY ENTRY. |
| 6. | Competitors will not be allowed to fish or groundbait in competition areas ONE HOUR before the start of any Competition or Festival. |
| 7. | The draw for all numbered stations will be made prior to any Competition or Festival start or by the closing date on entry forms. The Breakwater numbered stations may be fished from the inner or outer side by the same angler who will not be allowed to exchange, cast or angle from any other station. If any Competition or Festival is held on the Prince of Wales Pier, ONLY ONE ROD WITH NO MORE THAN THREE HOOKS may be used. No. 1 station beginning at the southern or lighthouse end. Fishing from the EASTERN side only. |
| 8. | Competitors entered for competitions held on the Southern Breakwater will embark from the Dumphead at the times announced. Late arrivals to make their own arrangements for conveyance tot he Breakwater and must report to the Steward or Competition Secretary on arrival to the Pier. |
| 9. | Landing nets will be available, any competitor losing or damaging a net shall pay the cost thereof. Competitors may use their own, only as a landing net, and on no account will any net be used in the competition area for any other purpose. |
| 10. | Any form of kind of feathers or artificial lures and the use of surface water lighting is PROHIBITED. |
| 11. | Competitors must not handle other competitors rods unless in danger. |
| 12. | A competitor will not receive more than one prize per day. This rule however shall not apply to classes 1 and 2 or the cups and prizes in the special classes. In the event of a competitor qualifying for more than one prize per day, the selection of the prize shall be decided by the Committee, such decision to be final (Cash or Voucher prize may operate). |
| 13. | ALL CUPS WILL REMAIN IN THE POSSESSION OF D.S.A.A. Anglers winning any trophy or cup may at their own expense have photographs taken with trophies or cups they may win. |
| 14. | The official in charge will give the start and finish of all Competitions and Festivals by a signal on the dates and times stated. START AND FINISH TIMES GO ON OFFICIAL IN CHARGE TIMEPIECE. |
| 15. | All lines must be clear of the water within THREE MINUTES of the finishing signal. |
| 16. | Competitors leaving any Competition or Festival before the finishing signal, and who wish to have their catch of sizeable fish weighed in, must tie the catch and label it with the competitors fish bag label and hand it PERSONALLY to the competition official in charge. |
| 17. | Any for of handline is PROHIBITED. |
| 18. | One rod with line and tackle and not more than THREE hooks attached to be used. A treble hook now counts as one hook but only ONE treble hook may be used on any rig. A second rod may be made up and baited. |
| 19. | Any amount of rigs baited is permitted. |
| 20. | All L.S.D. will count for 750 grams regardless and must be recorded at time of capture on a fish card provided at the start of any competition. The fish caught must be recorded on this card and signed by the competitor next to you before your next line is retrieved. ALL CARDS MUST BE FILLED IN CORRECTLY AND SIGNED. These fish are barred from the Heaviest Fish pool. |
| 21. | Only ONE Mackerel is allowed for Species pools and not allowed in aggregate weight. |
| 22. | Rules 20 and 21 do not count in Pier Festival. |
| 23. | Any competition with pools will payout 100% of entry. Categories for pools advertised before competition. |
| 24. | Any doubts as to the species of a fish shall be decided by a Committee of not less than three, such decision to be binding on the competitor. |
| 25. | Official Scale Men or Stewards in charge will only weigh in sizeable fish brought to scales at any competition. Fish may be rejected if they appear to have been tampered with. |
| 26. | Size limits are as stated by N.F.S.A. and D.S.A.A. and a copy can be obtained from the Competition Secretary. |
| 27. | In the interest of safety, competitors are advised that any form of dangerous casting is prohibited in all competitions. |
| 28. | In any 2 ROD competitions, not more than 3 hooks in total may be used. Treble in rule 18 to apply. |
| 29. | An official Steward or Competition Secretary may weigh any specimen fish that a competitor want to return to the sea at the time of capture. NOTE these fish may be excluded from specimen fish awards. |
